In April 30, 2014, the foreign ministry held a briefing on Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Ethiopia and Au headquarters, Nigeria, Angola and Kenya. Vice Minister of foreign affairs Zhang Ming and assistant Zhang Xiangchen, Minister of Commerce, introduced the relevant information and answered questions from Chinese and foreign journalists.

Zhang Ming said that Premier Li Keqiang's visit is another important visit of China's main leaders to Africa after last year's visit by Chairman Xi Jinping. It is also the first visit of the new Chinese government's prime minister to Africa. The visit coincided with the first visit of Zhou Enlai, the first premier of new China, to 50th anniversary. It is of great significance to further carry forward the traditional friendship between China and Africa, enhance the level of pragmatic cooperation between the two sides, deepen the new strategic partnership between China and Africa, enrich and develop international cooperation.

Zhang Ming said that during the visit, Premier Li Keqiang will hold talks and meetings with the leaders of African countries and the chairman of the African union committee, and exchange views extensively and deeply on issues of common concern. China and Africa will also sign nearly 60 cooperation documents, including political, economic and trade, culture, health, agriculture, personnel training and many other fields. The two sides will also make a joint statement on the important consensus reached during the visit. In addition, the Chinese side will jointly publish the joint statement and the two documents of the programme for reducing poverty and cooperation with the African Union.

During a visit to Ethiopia, Prime Minister Li Keqiang will hold talks with Prime Minister Haier Mariam, and met with President Mulatu. I believe this visit will further deepen the Sino Egyptian traditional friendship, closely exchange experience in governing the country, enhance the level of pragmatic cooperation between the two countries, and push the Sino Egyptian comprehensive partnership to a higher level.

During his visit to the Au headquarters, Premier Li Keqiang will meet with the chairman of the Au Committee Zuma and the Au Conference Center for all delivered an important speech, proposed the framework of China Africa cooperation in the new period. This is the first visit of the premier of the State Council to the headquarters of the African Union. I believe it will further consolidate the strategic mutual trust and deepen cooperation in all fields, and push China's relations with Africa and Africa to a new level.

During his visit to Nigeria, Premier Li Keqiang will hold talks with President Jonathan. I believe that this visit will further consolidate the traditional friendship, promote bilateral strategic partnership to develop a closer relationship. Premier Li Keqiang will also attend the plenary session of the world economic forum Africa summit held in Abuja and give an important speech on strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Africa, promoting inclusive growth of Africa and realizing the common development of China Africa.

During his visit to Angola, Premier Li Keqiang will hold talks with President Dos Santos. He will also discuss overseas livelihood issues with representatives of Chinese funded enterprises and Chinese citizens. It is believed that this visit will further enhance the level of pragmatic cooperation between the two countries and promote the comprehensive and deep development of the strategic partnership between China and security.

During his visit to Kenya, Prime Minister Li Keqiang will hold talks with President Kenyatta and will also meet with the UNEP and the UN Habitat. It is believed that this visit will further enhance mutual political trust between the two countries, expand the all-round cooperation between the two countries and push the relations of friendship and cooperation to a new height.

Zhang Ming said that Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Africa is significant, content rich, fruitful, is another major diplomatic action China new central collective leadership to Africa under the new circumstances, visited four countries and the African Union and the world economic forum aspects are highly valued. Two. Economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa

Zhang Xiangchen pointed out that China and Africa have a different traditional friendship, and economic and trade cooperation is an important support for the new strategic partnership between China and Africa. Africa is regarded as the continent of hope and the hot land of development, and has become one of the fastest growing regions in the world economy. The common interests between China and Africa continue to expand. Since 2009, China has been the largest trading partner in Africa for 5 years, and it is also an important developing partner and a new source of investment in Africa. Africa has become an important source of imports in China, the second major overseas contracting projects and a new investment destination. By the end of 2013, China's stock of non direct investment reached $25 billion, and more than 2500 Chinese enterprises were not invested.

Zhang Xiangchen said that during Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Africa, the African leaders on further deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation in the exchange of views, especially how to promote economic cooperation in innovative ways to expand the field under the new situation, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of quality and efficiency and cooperation. I believe this visit will certainly push the Sino African Economic and trade cooperation to a further step.
