Overall Pattern of China’s Regional Economy is Shaping

    This year, China has approved 7 regional development plans that become national strategies, which is the sum of plans approved in the past 4 years. At present, China’s new regional economic landscape is shaping and will include such economic areas as Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, Beibu Gulf, Circum-Bohai-Sea Region, west coast of the Taiwan Straits, three provinces in northeast China, middle part and west part. Under unified arrangement of the State Council, bow-shaped development area, composed of Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta and other new industrial bases, Beibu Gulf, Circum-Bohai-Sea Region, Liaoning Old Industrial Base and Tumen River basin, is formed in coastal region. Backed by the Plan to Promote the Rise of Central China and the Guanzhong—Tianshui Economic Zone Development Plan, such areas are expected to usher in booming development.
