News of Guinea Branch On April  14, 2011, the Fifth Meeting of China—Guinea Mixed Economic and Trade Commission was convened in Conakry, capital of Guinea. Si Xubin, Deputy General Manager of the group company, Shu Xisong, Deputy General Manager of China Hyway Group Limited Guinea Branch and other leaders attended the meeting on behalf of China Hyway Group Limited.

     Fu Ziying, Vice-minister of the Ministry of Commerce of the P.R.C. and Moustapha Koutoubou SANO, Minister for International Cooperation of Guinea co-chaired the meeting and witnessed the signing of cooperation framework agreement between China Development Bank and Guinea. The two sides entered into and concluded minutes of the meeting and other rescue and cooperation agreements. Fu Ziying delivered a speech in the commission, indicating that Guinea is the first country in sub-Saharan Africa which established diplomatic relations with the P.R.C. and via development of friendly cooperative relations for more than half a century, the two sides assist each other in nation construction and yield fruitful results during cooperation in economy & trade, culture & education, health, etc. 

     Fu Ziying pointed out, “China and Guineae are highly complementary in economy and have a demand of cooperation. The two sides have a huge potential for economic and trade development. China is willing to work together with Guinea to promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation of the two sides.” He then suggested that the two sides shall: 

     Firstly, continuously strengthen cooperation in development assistance; this time Chinese government decides to provide new non-reimbursable assistance for Guinea for the the project negotiated between the two sides; secondly, promote investment cooperation in mining development and other fields; China is willing to help Guinea to transform resource advantage to development advantage; thirdly, actively deepen cooperation in human resource development; China is ready to continue to train technical and management talents for Guinea and share China’s development experience; fourthly, further improve bilateral trade level. 

     Sano expressed warm welcome for visit of Chinese Government Trade and Economic Delegation, admiration for great achievements of China through 30-year reform and opening up and thanks for the cooperation results of the two sides on behalf of Guinea government. He said that Guinea aid project of China is highly efficient and greatly benefits Guinea people and he hoped to strengthen cooperation with China in agriculture, hygiene, education, infrastructure, mining industry, building, etc. 

    After the meeting, representatives from Chinese enterprises and organizations in Guinea and trade & industry representatives from related departments of Guinea government held cooperation negotiations. China Hyway Group Limited also participated in the negotiations.
