    On August 24, 2014, Seeing-off Ceremony for 30 Angolan Youths to Go to China for Study under the Fund of Zhong An Lei Jun Construction Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Hyway Group Limited, hereinafter referred to as Zhong An Lei Jun) was grandly held in TALATONA Hotel, Luanda, Angola. Over 150 people including officials from the Angolan Government, Ambassador Gao Kexiang from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Angola, Counselor Xia Xiaoling from the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office, friends and relatives of international students, etc. attended this activity and Secretary Guo Xin and Secretary Zhang Chunming from the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office presided the conference. This activity for studying abroad is co-initiated by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Angola and Zhong An Lei Jun and these students are fully funded by China Hyway Group Limited. 

   General Manager Wei Ruihai of Zhong An Lei Jun said that since entry in Angola in 2007, Zhong An Lei Jun is always upholding the management philosophy of “mutual improvement and development with Angolan people”, devoted itself to promoting the rapid development of Angola, taking initiative in blending to the local society, and actively performing the social responsibilities, and has been highly spoken of by the related department under the Angolan Government and the local society. In the process of corporate development, Zhong An Lei Jun is committed itself to making more contributions to the Angolan Government and people. In order to further promote Sino-Angolan educational and cultural exchange and deepen the communication and understanding between young people in two states, Zhong An Lei Jun responds to the call of the Chinese Government for support to African education and co-launches a talent cultivation project with the Ministry of Transport of Angola under the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Angola, so as to undertake some social responsibilities for the Angolan people. 30 funded Angolan youths will go to Jimei University (a key university located in Xiamen) to study the computer and international trade. The study and life counselors majoring in Portuguese language are specially arranged by Jimei University for these students, as well as the senior professors to give lectures.  

    In the address, Ambassador Gao Kexiang from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Angola said that this activity has a profound significance and is an important witness of Sino-Angolan friendship. Meanwhile, he also hopes that China-invested enterprises not only make contributions to Angola’s development, but also offer more help to Angola’s education, health care and livelihood, jointly making Angola become a strong country and assume some social responsibilities. He believed that China-invested enterprises will have a better development in Angola, build beautiful homes and bring benefit to the Angolan people. 

    DELFINA MRQUES DA CRUZ, on behalf of all international students, made a speech and expressed that they must cherish this hard-earned opportunity, study hard, finish their study and go back to serve their homeland.

    After the dinner party, they took the bus to Luanda International Airport and then flew to Xiamen, China to attend the entrance ceremony of Jimei University.
