(I) Reminder for Chinese citizens visiting Africa to carry vaccination certificate

   Recently, we’ve heard that a Chinese citizen was rejected boarding for failing to present his yellow book when he was going through check-in procedure for South Africa in Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia reminds that all Chinese citizens visiting African countries, especially South Africa, shall be vaccinated according to the requirements of the country of destination and take along vaccination certificate (commonly known as “yellow book”) that is within validity period and is issued 10 days before the journey.

   (II) Reminder for Chinese citizen in Ethiopia to enhance safety awareness

   Recently, Addis Ababa of Ethiopia has seen successive occurrences of Chinese citizens being robbed or stolen, some being gun robbery whilst some being thefted by falsely claiming vehicle malfunction and taking advantage of the time when the driver stops for a check.Embassy of the People's Republic of China to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia again reminds all Chinese citizens in Ethiopia of enhancing safety awareness and giving priority to safety. To be specific, one shall go out in groups whenever possible, avoid going out at night, carrying valuables or bulk cash when going to loney streets or places and ask the local police for protection if traveling to dangerous places.
