On January 11,2013, Detailed Planning on Xinminzhou Urban Design and Control Expert Review Meeting was convened under organization of the People’s Government of Jingkou District, Zhenjiang City and Zhenjiang City Planning Bureau. The expert panel headed by Professor Kong Linglong from the Southeast University consists of Gu Chunping, Deputy Director General of the Changzhou City Planning Bureau, Sha Zhenzhen, Director of the Zhenjiang City Planning Commission Office, Zhu Fukun, Executive Deputy Director of Zhenjiang City Planning Bureau and other members. Through careful review, the panel considered that the Planning fundamentally conformed to actual and future development demand of Xinminzhou and thus, approved the Planning.
    Leaders from administrative commissions at the level of Zhenjiang City, Jingkou District and Xinminzhou Town attached high importance to Xinminzhou urban design and planning. Jiangsu People's Ecological Development and Construction Co., Ltd. set up high standards and invited world-renowned planning and design unit from British, America, Canada, etc. for bidding. After Soft-grid International was awarded the contract, Jiangsu People's Ecological Development and Construction Co., Ltd. organized 6 seminars and one pre-review. It was found that the Planning fully maintains original texture of the earth, respects current situation of the site and fully integrates ecological design with urban design.
    Through review, the panel agreed that the Planning could offer comprehensive interpretation of original texture and characteristics of the site and feature advanced concept, comprehensive results and reasonable planning structure and layout. Besides, the panel proposed strategies and measures for refining planning and building of a new-technology, low-carbon ecological town and advised that the town shall make facility layout of tourist resort compatible to public service of the town, attach importance of reasonable utilization of waterfront space and focus on shaping landscapes and environmental features of ecological tourism town.
