Angolan Government Launches Another Ribbon-cutting Ceremony for Stations of Moçâmedes Railway

On August 12 and 13, 2012, the Angolan government held another grand inauguration and ribbon-cutting ceremony for stations along the Moçâmedes Railway, following the ribbon-cutting events on July 23 and 24. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Augusto da Silva Tomás, Angola's Minister of Transport, and José Kuvíngua, Vice Minister of Transport. Also present were Julio Bango Joaquim, Director of the National Railway Research Institute; Cândida Celeste, Governor of Namibe Province; Isaac dos Anjos, Governor of Huíla Province; Eusébio de Brito Teixeira, Governor of Cuando Cubango Province; and Daniel Quipaxe, Director of the Moçâmedes Railway Bureau. Our representatives included Yang Shuiqing, Executive Deputy General Manager of China Hyway Group Limited and General Manager of Engineering Contracting and Trade Management Company; Wei Ruihai, Chief Economist of China Hyway Group Limited and General Manager of Moçâmedes Railway Project Company; Huang Hai, Chief Engineer and Executive Deputy General Manager of Moçâmedes Railway Project Company; Xue Zhongchun, Deputy General Manager of the Company; Yang Yi, General Manager Assistant of the Company; and Li Mi, Director of the General Office of the Company.

At 11 a.m. on August 12, Tomás and his delegation arrived at Namibe Station. Together with guests from various levels and representatives from our side, they boarded a train heading to the first stop of the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Raposeira Level 3 Station. Arrive at Raposeira.
