Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council, met Ethiopia President Mulatu who came to China to attend Eco Forum Global Annual Conference Guiyang 2014 at the Great Hall of the People on the afternoon of July 8, 2014.

   Li Keqiang said President Xi Jinping had a successful visit to Africa last year. Sino-African relations and cooperation are making new progress and the friendship between two peoples is increasingly deepening. When I visited Ethiopia in May, we reached a broad consensus with you and your Premier in respect of deepening Sino-Ethiopian friendly cooperation relation. China is willing to work with Ethiopia to promote the reconstruction of Ethiopia’s traffic, power grid and other infrastructure by building the regional aviation center and the manufacturing center and developing the poverty alleviation demonstration center, make a success of special economic zones, industrial parks and other major projects, expand the cooperation of energy development, HR training and agriculture, create a model for Sino-Ethiopian mutual benefit, win-win and joint development, and build an example of Sino-African cooperation.

    Li Keqiang pointed out China and Africa respectively act as the largest developing country and are on the continents where developing countries are most concentrated and two states have the similar development philosophies, friendly relations and complementary cooperation fields. China is willing to work with African countries and African Union to successfully plan and build three networks including railway, road and aviation in accordance with the principles of “sincerity, practical results, affinity and good faith”, advance the mutually beneficial cooperation between two states under “461” framework of Sino-African cooperation, and make the new Sino-African strategic partnership bring more benefit to two peoples. 

    Mulatu said China is Ethiopia’s overriding partner and the relation between two states is built on the basis of mutual understanding, trust, benefit and win-win. Premier Li Keqiang’s successful visit to Ethiopia pushes Ethiopia-China relation to a new stage. Ethiopia is willing to work with China to implement the visit outcomes and continue deepening and developing Ethiopia-China relation. Ethiopia is willing to promote Africa-China cooperation to obtain more achievements, together with African countries and African Union.
