On July 10, 2017, the awarding and foundation ceremony of Luanda New International Airport Railway Branch Project and Luanda Multi-purpose Station Project contracted by China Haoyuan Group Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Opberg Co., Ltd. were carried out on the Luanda Railway KAPALANGA Train Station and New International Airport.
Augusto da Silva Tomás, Minister of Transport of Angola, Higino Carneiro, governor of Luanda, Júlio Joaquim, president of the Institute of Railway Research, and other leaders of Angola, Liu Jianzhong, president of Luanda Branch of Bank of China, Liu Daiwen, chairman of China Haoyuan Group Co., Ltd., Wei Ruihai, vice president of Far East Group Co., Ltd. and Fang Changlu, executive deputy general manager of Zhong An Lei Jun Construction Co., Ltd., attended the award ceremony and the foundation laying ceremony. As the general contractor of the two projects, China Haoyuan Group Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Opberg Co., Ltd. jointly conduct surveys and designs and organize construction on their own. The project includes subgrade, bridge and culvert, orbit, communication, signal, electric power, station building, electromechanical equipment procurement and installation work. New International Airport Railway Extension project is Luanda BAIA station connecting Luanda New International Airport, the total length of 15 km, of which 7.5 km for the expansion of railway double-track, 7.5 km for the two-lane railway line, the new International Airport station, the new two bridge. The five multi-purpose station project is a key transportation hub linking Bungo to Luanda's new International Airport in Angola. After the completion of each multi-purpose station will become commercial, parking, bus station, taxi waiting area as one integrated hub. The two project owners are the Ministry of Transport of Angola, which all use the buyer's credit provided by Bank of China to Angola.
Transport Minister Augusto da Silva Tomás said that the completion of the two projects will greatly enhance the transport capacity of the capital's passengers and goods and fundamentally solve the existing traffic problems. Luanda's orbital transportation will be more convenient and will be of great help to the promotion of Luanda's Economic growth will play a positive role in promoting.
