In August 2014, Jimei University signed a cooperation agreement with China Hyway Group Limited to jointly hold the “Jimei University-China Hyway International Class” to embrace 32 Angolan students for the first class. This class adopts the modal of School Enterprise Cooperation and Complementary Advantages. The students are selected by China Hyway Group Co., Ltd in Angola, and are fully funded to study in China. Jimei University develops a customized training programs for students, with “1+4” school system, including one year for Chinese language learning, and four years for international economics and trade undergraduate study. The professional talents who are developed are proficient in both Chinese language and their major after five years of study. During the study period of Angolan students in Jimei University, the school pays special attention to the education of Chinese Traditional Culture and Jiageng Spirit, and actively organizes students to participate in practice activities of international business.

On the morning of June 26, 2019, after the graduation ceremony of the first “Jimei University-China Hyway International Class”, Liu Daiwen, Chairman of China Hyway Group Limited, and João Santos Netu, Angola’s Ambassador to China and Shen Canhuang, Secretary of the Party committee of Jimei University held a cordial talks. Hu Jiaming, President of China Hyway Group Limited, Xu Bin and Wei Ruihai, Vice Presidents, Leaders of Consulate General of the Angola in Guangzhou, Students’ Parents of Angola Graduation Class, Key Persons of International Cooperation and Exchange Department Overseas Education Colleges of Jimei University and other personnel attended the meeting.

On the morning of June 26, 2019, the graduation ceremony of the first “Jimei University – China Hyway International Class” was held in conference room 103, Shang Building, Jimei University. João Santos Netu, Angola’s Ambassador to China, Antonio, Deputy Consul of Angola’s Consulate General in Guangzhou, Li Qingbiao, President of Jimei University, Cao Minjie, Vice President, leaders and teachers of School office, student affairs office, international cooperation and exchange office, academic affairs office, admission office, school of finance and economics, school of overseas education, Liu Daiwen, Chairman of China Hyway Group Limited, Hu Jiaming, President, Xu Bin and Wei Ruihai, Vice Presidents, and thirty two Angolan students and their parents witnessed the farewell ceremony called “Growing up”.

On the afternoon of April 4, 2019, the signing ceremony of “The Belt and Road Initiative” Strategic Cooperation Agreement on International Talent Joint Training between the Group Company and Jimei University was successfully held in conference room 103, Shangda Building, Jimei University. Mr. Hu Jiaming, President of the Group, Zhang Yan, Director of the Integrated Office of the Group, Wei Zhiqiang, Senior Director of the Human Resources Department of the Group, Li Qingbiao, President of Jimei University, Cao Minjie, Vice President of Jimei University Office, heads of office of Jimei University, International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Overseas Education College and more than 100 international students of Jimei from 23 countries participated in the signing ceremony. The signing ceremony was presided over by Cao Minjie, vice president of Jimei University. In the ceremony, both sides signed the “The Belt and Road Initiative” Strategic Cooperation Agreement on International Talent Joint Training.

On October 20, 2018, Jimei University held the 100th anniversary meeting; leaders at each level, schoolfellow at domestic and abroad and the public got together to celebrate the 100th anniversary. Vice President Wei Ruihai and Deputy Director of General Office Zhang Yan of Hyway Group were invited to join Jimei University’s 100th anniversary, and expressed their regards to the 32 students in the “Jimei University-China Hyway International Program” from Angola accompanied by Vice Dean Chen Tongwen and Deputy Party Secretary Lu Qile of the Overseas Education College.

On February 4, 2015, spring has come back to the earth and the Lunar New Year is just around the corner! Vice-Director Cao Jiachang and Division Chief Zhang Shengbin of Department of West Asia and African Affairs, Ministry of Commerce of the Peoples Republic of China, Industry & Trade Chairman Zhang Zhenhan, Office Director Wang Yan, etc. of China Hyway Group went to Xiamen to visit students at “Jimei University-China Hyway International Program” from Angola. President Su Wenjin, Assistant President Ye Guanghuang and leaders from the International Cooperation & Exchange Department and Overseas Education College met the leaders from the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and our Group.
